Ход конёмChess for Kids
♞ Chess School for Kids · North Cyprus

Teaching kids to think several moves ahead — and enjoy it

«Ход конём» (Knight's Move) is a chess club for children aged 5–14. We build attention, memory and logic through play — not tournament drilling. Several coaches, small groups, a clear path of growth for every child.

The knight always moves in an "L" shape — the only piece that can jump over others

Our Approach

Development and enjoying the game come first

Chess is a great way to develop thinking at any age. The real question is why you're bringing your child — and how the process is run.

How it often works at sports clubs

  • Focus on tournament results from the very first months
  • One coach — if the approach doesn't fit, there's no alternative
  • Strict selection of the "promising" ones, the rest are cut
  • Comparing kids to each other, pressure to perform

How it works at «Ход конём»

  • We build thinking skills and love of the game, not chase ratings
  • Several coaches — so you can find the approach that actually works for your child
  • We welcome everyone aged 5–14 and progress at our own pace
  • We celebrate each child's progress — without comparing kids to each other
Try It Yourself

Where can a knight move?

This is how we explain the logic of the pieces to kids — through practice and visuals, not memorization.

The "L"-Shaped Move

The knight is standing in the centre of the board. Press the button to see every square it can move to next.

Coaches

A strong methodology — not one "star" coach

Several coaches work at the club. That's a deliberate choice: it matters to a child that the approach fits them, and it matters to the club that lessons don't depend on one person's schedule.

  • One shared programme. All coaches follow the same methodology, so changing groups or coaches never sets a child back.
  • Finding the right fit. If the format isn't working, your child can try a different coach within the club.
  • Focus on the child. We track every student's progress — not just the results of the strongest players.

We're publishing coach profiles and experience as the page is ready. You can meet a coach in person at the free trial lesson.
